Job Description

Landscape Construction Foreman

The Landscape Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing and leading the construction of outdoor living spaces, including hardscapes and softscapes, such as patios, walls, water features, plantings, sod installation, irrigation, and other related services. The Foreman will be responsible for leading a team in completing projects on time and within budget, ensuring craftsmanship and quality is in line with company standards, ensuring that safety standards are met, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining accurate records and reporting progress to the superintendent.

Primary responsibilities: Include but not limited to the following.

  • To be on-site installing and building all aspects of a landscape project and/or, overseeing the installation and construction of partial or entire project(s).

  • To plan ahead and gather and manage materials, equipment and man power needed for your project, in order to be efficient for the following day(s).

  • Understand a job plan set and complete the job in specified time and budget, while maintaining quality and standards set forth by the company.

  • Read, follow, and understand architectural plans, landscape plans and engineering plans, including but not limited to, footings, concrete patios/slabs/footings, retaining walls (boulder, block…), decks, pergolas, paver patios, irrigation… 

  • Operate excavators, skid steers, trucks, trailers…

  • Supervises a crew of up to 5+ employees and prioritizes work, track their time

  • Lead and train employees to complete projects within established guidelines, time frame and quality standards. Provide guidance and instruction to crew members in the use of tools and machinery

  • Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, document/report injuries, and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Brings problems to the attention of the Superintendent and/or Operations Manager.

  • Maintain a clean and safe job site

  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained

  • Collect and turn in receipts with job name/address on a weekly basis.

  • Winter responsibilities: Include but not limited to the following:

    • All of the above if we have projects going on.

    • Snow plowing/removal: Employee will need to be available at all hours to manage plowing and snow removal. This includes very early hours (3am or earlier), late hours (7pm and later).

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • At least 3 years experience in construction management or related field

  • Valid Drivers License

  • DOT Medical Certification (DOT Med Card)

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) – Not required but recommended

    Strong knowledge base:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of stone and landscape construction processes

    • Installation of patios – Flagstone, pavers, concrete

    • Installation of retaining walls – Boulder/stone, Belgard type block, concrete

    • General masonry – Stone veneer, stone caps, CMU block, concrete, stone masonry, stone masonry repairs, brick…

    • Footings – Forms, rebar…

    • Grading (Using transits and laser levels)

    • Planting

    • Irrigation

  • Ability to train and motivate crews

  • Strong communications and organization skills

  • Able to drive trucks, trailers, and equipment (excavator, skid steer, etc.)

  • Proficient in English, Spanish is a plus


Job Description

Skilled Craftsman

We are looking for Landscape Construction Craftsman that have experience in building outdoor spaces, including hardscapes (patios, walkways, retaining walls), softscapes (plantings, shrubs, and trees), irrigation systems, and/or lighting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of landscape construction and the skills necessary to construct landscapes.

Candidate should have:

  • Proven experience in landscape construction

  • Strong knowledge of basic landscaping principles and installation processes.

  • Able to follow directions

  • Strong ability in operating machinery (Mini excavators, skid steers, trenchers…)

  • Ability to give direction to crew members

  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to communicate with Foreman and other crew members.

  • English as your primary language

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. on a regular basis

  • Valid Drivers License


Job Description

Stone Masons

Two or more (2+) years of experience putting up interior and exterior stone veneer, boulder wall construction, and/or stone patio construction.  You will work quickly and efficiently, while maintaining a high quality of work.  You will be willing to learn new skills where specific skills may be lacking. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install or repair interior and exterior stone veneer for fireplaces, exterior house walls, sitting walls, mailboxes, grills, etc.

  • Construct boulder retaining walls and stone/paver patios with team

  • Install hard and softscapes with other crews when needed or between irrigation installations

  • Assist with snow removal in winter months

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or higher

  • 2-4 years of experience in masonry

  • Able to work alone or with a team

  • Ability to drive trucks, trailers, and equipment is a plus

  • Some experience installing softscapes is a plus


Job Description

Irrigation Specialist

Have substantial experience installing new systems (on large and small projects), repairing existing systems, and expanding off existing systems.  You will be able to trouble shoot issues that may arise post installation and perform winter blow-out each fall.  When not performing irrigation duties, you will be able to work alongside our construction crews, installing hard and softscapes. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install new irrigation systems, starting from ground zero – trenching, laying pipes, hooking up to water, installing control panels, setting timers, etc.)

  • Repair and troubleshoot problems in existing or recently installed systems

  • Put together irrigation designs for larger projects or as needed to successfully install new systems

  • Install hard and softscapes with other crews when needed or between irrigation installations

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or higher

  • 3-5 years of experience with irrigation installation

  • Able to work alone or with a team

  • Perform winter blow-outs

  • Must be able to drive trucks, trailers, and equipment

  • Experience installing water features is a plus

  • Some experience installing hard and softscapes is a plus
